I just learned something new about my neighbor Andy. This Killers song was written about him. I did some Googling and found a lot of lyric interpretations to this song and most cast Andy in a negative light. Some saying he was a bully to Brandon Flowers in high school. Some interpretations say that Andy is gay and trying to obscure it. One said that Andy slept with Brandon's girlfriend. Some of the commenters claim to be students or athletes taught or coached by Andy and say that he hates it when the song is brought up.
I don't know if I will ever ask Andy about this song but I do know that he is a great guy. Andy coaches my son in football and wrestling and my son thinks the world of him as do all of the boys. He's a great member of our community. He has a family and as far as I know he's a fantastic father and husband.
