Some have argued King David engaged in a same-sex relationship with Jonathan due to some of the words used to describe his friendship with him in the Bible. Is this an accurate interpretation? Let’s begin with a see at some of the key biblical passages used in this controversy. 1 Samuel states: After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself. From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family. And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. Jonathan took off the robe he was wearing and gave it to David, along with his tunic, and even his sword, his bow and his belt. Aspects noted about David and Jonathan’s relationship included like, living close to one another, sharing a covenant, and the giving of gifts. These were all aspects of loyal friendship common in Jewish culture. Any attempt to interpret this corridor as a sexual relationship are forced beyond the normal comprehending of the text. No, we should not realize that David was a homosexual from this or any other text.
Homosexuality is a sin (Antinomianism and Homosexuality?; Same Sex Love?; Practicing Homosexuals Can Go to Heaven), and one which neither David nor Jonathon was ever judged for in Scripture. David was judged for being an adulterer and a murderer, and God would not have missed homosexuality had it been a truths in David's life! The Bible condemns David's adultery with Bathsheba - the sin affected him, his children and the entire nation of Israel. However, there is no condemnation of the relationship David and Jonathon. Why? Because there

1 Samuel The Queerness of David and Jonathan
Scripture is filled with complex mysteries and modern scholars maintain to struggle over the complexity of them. The story of David and Jonathan is one of those great mysteries of homoerotism in the bible. Since this infinity between the two happens prior to the philosophical era, it is difficult to describe or contend if the relationship between these two men was carnal or amicable. This is further supported by exegesis of the text and accounts from other scholars.
Is there a fixation with the uncircumcised giant, Goliath? In chapter 17 of 1 Samuel, the mystery of how a child killed a giant is recorded. From the very beginning, the infatuation of the phallus is apparent. David, in dialogue with Saul states, “[y]our servant has killed both lions and bears; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, since he has defied the armies of the living God…The LORD, who saved me from the paw of
