Octopus’s Garden: Gay Scuba Diving in Saba
Day 1: Meeting Day
Our adventure begins when you spot the airstrip on which your pilot intends to land. The residents of this volcanic island found a plot of level land just massive enough to hold the world’s smallest international airport. Fortunately, the pilot has made this landing many times before and rolls to a halt with half the runway still to spare. Five minutes after touching down, you’ve already cleared Saban immigration, collected your luggage, and are on a winding road toward our hotel. Small airports have their advantages!
Our home for seven nights is a approachable hotel overlooking the turquoise Caribbean waters, where you’ll soon be diving. At our brief orientation, you meet our group and get information about the activities for the week.
If you arrive early enough, explore the small town of Windwardside this afternoon. After watching a glassblower craft colorful fish, you’ll have no trouble coming up with gift ideas to take back place. Then we’ve planned a welcome reception, followed by a Saban barbeque dinner.

Overview Scuba diving from an award-winning live-aboard boat is the ideal Caribbean vacation. Invest a week at sea with a lively group of gay divers. |
| The islands of Saba, St. Kitts, and Statia offer some of the Caribbean's leading scuba diving sites. Far less visited than resort destinations such as the Bahamas, these unspoiled islands and the reefs around them are best enjoyed from a live-aboard boat. By morning, dive right from the boat into the clear waters.
Enjoy up to five dives a day, at depths ranging from 20 to feet. The last dive of the evening is offered after sunset, when an entirely different position of underwater creatures will be out to greet you. When you're not di Gay Diving in Gran CanariaDuring and , A PADI Instructor worked here on Gran Canaria in conjunction with our dive centre, and offered dedicated diving trips to the gay and lesbian community, and took them diving in the beautiful waters of the El Cabrón Marine Reserve. Unfortunately, he has now moved support to Holland, and we are unable to offer the 'dedicated' trips that he organised, and are unaware of any other gay instructors on the island. However many of the divers from that time return regularly to Gran Canaria and dive with us, or take dive courses here in the el Cabrón marine reserve. There are many times of the year when we are quieter and so can organise courses for couples or small groups which are dedicated to those members, and we continue to welcome divers from all over the world. Our daily collection service covers all the main hotels and appartments including gay and lesbian units. So if you want to experience the very best of scuba diving here on Gran Canaria, then please contact us on webinfo@ and we will be cheerful to help you plan some fabu | |
